Bhubaneswar, June 16: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Sunday said his government would do so much development work in five years that would be more than work done in 50 years.

"Fed up with the earlier government's failure in meeting their basic needs, people have instilled trust in us. Our government will certainly expeditiously do development work so much so that five years' work will be more than done in the last 50 years," Majhi, who was recently sworn in as BJP's first Odisha CM, told reporters after meeting common people at the State Guest House here today.

The Chief Minister said his government is committed to meeting the people's expectations of the new government.

"I come from a common family. I have seen problems faced by people. My government would focus on fulfilling their needs and giving justice to them," Majhi said.

He asserted that the BJP government is committed to serving the people and giving justice to them.

"With the blessings of 4.5 crore people, the development of Odisha will be fast-tracked. I will fulfill the responsibility given to take the development of Odisha to its peak. We will show what was not done in 24 years of government," Majhi said.

The new Chief Minister said the BJP government is the government of the common people. This government will go to the people, and Modi's guarantee will reach the people, said Majhi.
